I know I’ve been a little slow with the updates. Sorry, with work and trying to keep the Maisto blog updated it’s gotten a little hairy, but here I am, back on the grind. Here’s a new logo I busted for “Pass & Stow”, a new clothing/graff/art boutique in Philly owned by my homie DJ Stress. I was really happy with the way this one turned out. Let me know your thoughts.
OK, so I was out at lunch yesterday and stopped by the bookstore afterwards to pick up some art/design mags, and low and behold, I see this little, pudgie, mexican boy, in some tight little pants and rockin’ the fiercest “spider-man” underoos long sleeve top that looked like it was a tad too small. It was so cute. He was even strapped with a dope little “batman” backpack. I mean it, the kid was in character, it was the best! He didn’t have a mask, but if he did, he would have been sportin’ it. So I got back to work, and sketched up this little diddy, titled “Lil’ Spuddy”. Let me know your thoughts.
Paramount Pictures has released the first two photos of Ray Park as Snake Eyes in the Stephen Sommers-directed G.I. Joe, coming to theaters on August 7, 2009.
“He’s the world’s greatest ninja, but he’s also next-generation. He’s not afraid to use a sword one second, and a split-second later he’s pulling out his Glock,” Sommers told USA Today. “His chief nemesis is arguably the world’s other great ninja, Storm Shadow. The two grew up together, were blood brothers and now are mortal enemies.”
Sommers stressed that the movie is an origins story, so his challenge is to explain why the bad guy wears a metal mask, why Snake Eyes doesn’t talk and other strange things kids took for granted. “For people who know nothing about it, it’ll make sense,” Sommers said. “And to people who love this stuff, it’ll show where they all came from.”
Adapted by Stuart Beattie, the action-adventure also stars Dennis Quaid, Channing Tatum, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Said Taghmaoui, Marlon Wayans, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Arnold Vosloo and Christopher Eccleston.
New sketch I did for an illustration and possible painting I will be rockin. This poor little Vato Loco titled “Worm Food” has reached his end, food for the worms and maggots. I don’t know what the fuck I was thinking when I sketched this out! No I wasn’t on any drugs. I’m just High on life I guess. I will keep posting new works and latest news here. Thanks for lookin.
So I started this new blog, and I have some big plans for it. I want to constantly bombard you (whoever YOU are? I don’t know, friends, family, fans, unsuspecting public, whoever) with updates, art, things going on in my life, shows I’ll be attending. You get the idea. I’m sitting here at work, working on some turnaround illustrations or control drawings, of something TOP SECRET. You know TOP SECRET means I can’t tell you shit. But I can tell you that I can’t tell you shit about what I’m working on. See how that works? So that’s it for now.
Here is the latest offering from Maisto, the company I work for. Street Troopers are transforming whips that are ready to blast when things “POP OFF!!!!” word!
